1 John 4:7-21 - God is Love

Love is one of the most important tenets of the Christian faith and our walk should be defined by love for all of our neighbors and love for our fellow believers. John describes the importance of love in these verses.

1 John 4:1-6 - Blowin' in the Wind

A warning is issued by John that not every spirit, prophet, pastor, or teacher that confesses Jesus Christ is actually born again and that many people abuse the gospel for their own benefit.

The three different types of sin comprise these verses as John gives an exhortation to not love the world. 

1 John 2:7-14 - Love is All You Need

At the heart of Christianity is the command to love both your neighbor but also fellow believers. John includes a tough rebuke that states that any believer who does not love his brother walks in darkness.

1 John 2:1-6 - Walk as He Walked

These verses contain some of strongest verses regarding the expected sanctification of believers. John states that a believer ought to walk the same as Jesus.

1 John 1:5-10 - Light and Darkness

John addresses the importance of fellowship and confession of sins. Some of the most classic verses in the Bible are taken from the opening of this epistle. 

1 John Intro/1:1-4 - In the Beginning

The Apostle John opens up his epistle with the declaration that the knowledge he has comes from first-hand experience with Jesus himself. John states that he has heard, seen and felt Jesus for himself.
