Luke 18:31-34 - They Didn't Know

Jesus prophesies to the Apostles about His impending death and resurrection. It says that they didn't understand what Jesus was saying because it was hidden from them. 

Luke 18:18-30 - Rich Young Ruler

Jesus explains something important to a rich young ruler who asks what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus, knowing the young man's heart, says that he must sell all his possessions. This parable explains the need to have Jesus as the most important thing in your life. 

Luke 18:15-17 - Like a Child

Jesus explains that it is necessary to receive the Kingdom of Heaven like a child. He further explains that those who do not will not enter into it.  

Luke 18:9-14 - Pharisee and Tax Collector

Jesus uses this parable to highlight the difference in the attitude and posture of the heart of two different men. One is self-righteous and the other is poor in spirit.

Jesus uses a parable of a widow to illustrate the importance of persistence in your prayer life. The woman eventually wears down a judge with her pleas for justice.

Jesus explains to His disciples the circumstances surrounding the Second Coming. These verses are typically used as evidence for the Rapture. 

Luke 17:11-19 - 10 Lepers

Jesus heals ten lepers as he passed through the border of Samaria and Galilee. Of the ten lepers, only one returned to Jesus to praise Him. 

Luke 17:5-10 - What is Faith?

Jesus uses an illustration to demonstrate the relationship between faith and duty. He proposed to His disciples a simple question: should the servant be thanked because he did things that were expected of him?

Luke 17:1-4 - Offended

Jesus explains to His disciples that it is impossible to avoid offense altogether in our lives. He follows up this statement be explaining the need to forgive. 

Luke 16:19-31 - Abraham's Bosom

Jesus uses the parable of the rich man and Lazarus as a follow up to the previous parable of the unrighteous steward. Like the previous parable, there is a focus on being prepared for your future circumstances.
